From Transition Montpelier’s Urban Greening Group:

Urban Greening were recently awarded £1000 towards an Edible Montpelier project by Bristol Green Capital. We have been given a little leeway in how we spend the money, and we want to make as effective a use of it as we can, so we met on 15 Nov to agree how we can best do that.

After a very constructive discussion, we decided to focus on three main strands:

Each of these are experimental ideas to get urban communities growing more food. They will be set up as trial schemes, with the potential of wider rollout across both Montpelier and Bristol. We hope to use the BGC funding to help figure out the best way to get these experiments working, giving us evidence to help apply for further funding to scale them up. Please see the individual pages for more info on each project, and feel free to leave comments and ask questions.

The Spring planning meeting is 18 January, 8 pm at 64 York Road.

Please email urbangreening@transitionmontpelier.org.uk if you live in the Montpelier area and are interested in taking part in any of the projects.
